FOOD TO PUMP YOUR BRAIN BEFORE AN EXAM!
The brain is the most important organ in our body. It plays a pivotal role in the learning process. Its good performance is influenced by: sleep, food, and mental activity. What foods can pump our minds?
WATER
Our brains are made up of 80% water. Nowadays, food is often dehydrated. All sorts of rolls, bars, croutons, and chips require a fair amount of liquid to digest.
Now imagine what happens to your brain if you don’t drink enough H2O and eat dehydrated food. That’s right! It would turn into a shriveled brain! Is such a brain capable of conquering the world or discovering a new physical law? The answer is obvious. 33 ml of water per 1 kg of weight.
FATS
In addition to water, the brain contains 8% fats. But not simple fats, but polyunsaturated fats. Everyone has known for a long time that there are omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. They are the ones that allow you to think well.
It is scientifically proven that people deficient in Omega-3 have less brain volume and perform worse on tests that measure intelligence.
Sources of Omega-3 and Omega-6:
- Fatty fish (mackerel, herring, pink salmon)
- Nuts
- Olive and flaxseed oils
BERRIES
Yes, these are not the cheapest products. But in any supermarket, you can buy a bag of frozen berries for up to 100 rubles. Studies have shown that berries contain unique antioxidants. They are quite different from the antioxidants found in fruits or vegetables. Antioxidants prevent brain cells from breaking down, thereby keeping your complex active for years to come.
You’ve probably heard from your grandmother that you need to eat blueberries to fix your eyesight (especially useful for us Generation Z kids who are constantly stuck in their phones). But in fact, blueberries are not only good for keeping our eyes toned. This berry is capable of much more, such as improving memory and learning! So when I needed to write my admission essay, I ate a piece of bitter chocolate with a handful of blueberries for dessert, instead of a croissant.
EGGS
Here we will praise the choline (Vitamin B4) found in egg yolks, which is abundant in egg yolk. Not only does this vitamin stimulate brain function, but it also helps treat brain injuries, multiple sclerosis and prevent Parkinson’s disease.
CHOCOLATE
If you can’t live without desserts, then go for bitter chocolate. It contains glucose, the main source of energy for brain cells. Another reason to eat a piece of bitter chocolate is the antioxidants in cocoa beans, which fight free radicals that negatively affect the brain.
TEA
Green tea is an indispensable drink during stressful periods, especially such as preparing for important exams. For one thing, green tea reduces anxiety (which, you’ll agree, is off the charts before exams approach). It is better to drink green tea in the morning, because it, contrary to many myths, fights lethargy and depression and reduces sleepiness. And green tea extract also stimulates cognitive activity, in particular, improves your memory capabilities.
Be sure to add these foods to your diet to think fast and creatively. This, in turn, will help you achieve greater results in life.
