Direct Benefits: Direct Deposit or Debit Card?
1. What is the difference between Direct Deposit and Debit Card payment methods?

How are Direct Benefits applied to Unemployment Insurance?
1. Once I have signed up for Direct Deposit or Debit Card, will I still need to file an Unemployment Claim?
Yes. The Department of Labor’s Direct Benefits program provides a new paperless benefit payment method with Direct Deposit or Debit Card options. If you do not file a claim, you will not receive any payment.
2. Will I be able to use the Tele-Benefits phone line to select my “paperless” payment method?

No. Department of Labor Call Center employees cannot register anyone for any payment methods.
